We are one third through this month of December and it’s about time I gave you an update on my December Challenge. The challenge set forth was 75km of running for the month. Here in Australia we are on the 11th day of December.
I have ran a total of 29.861km. 🙂 It is 5.754km behind last month but I also included walking last month so I think I am tracking ok.
If I keep this same pace up, I should finish with about 90km racked up for the entire month. However, with Christmas almost upon us, some days are going to be a write off (eg: My work Christmas Party & Christmas Day) so while I can, I have to bring in the km’s.
How about an update on the healthy eating and weight loss?
Well, that’s been a little off balance the last two weeks. 😦 How about that 1kg (or 900g really!) I lost two weeks ago? Well, I have put back on in the last two weeks. 😦 This week I am going to try really hard and get back into my healthy eating and 1000 cal limit.
Now that its getting into warmer weather here, I am finding it difficult to run outside because it stays warm right until dark and I don’t want to run outside, alone, in the dark. My treadmill is great and I love using it and seeing myself exceed speeds and km’s but I like the freshness of the air outside. I may have to consider running in the mornings on the weekends and treadmill through the week.
I am still a little disappointed with my progress but everyone has ups and downs. I just need to keep pushing through those small set backs and leap ahead when I am feeling right.
I ran last night on my treadmill even though I was feeling like crap and pushed my body to run at 11km/h for 20 minutes. I originally had set a goal for 30 minutes but after eating dinner and feeling sick, I thought a 20 minute stint would be ample and at least I did some form of exercise instead of sitting on the couch.
Another run is on the cards tonight and with it being 29 degrees here today,I dare say it will be another treadmill workout.
Stay good for Santa. 😉 (There is only 14 sleeps!!!)
Christmas is upon us! It’s been in our face since late October and now there are only 16 sleeps until the big day.
I will be honest and say I’ve been a tad slack and only put up our tree on Friday night. :O 6 days later than what normally happens. I almost always put up our tree on the 1st of December but this year I have been busy work and this past Friday was my first free night to do anything.
I hardly ever let anyone else put up the tree. They almost always do it incorrectly. It ends up with too many coloured baubles in one spot or not enough in another. Plus, it makes me happy and keeps me busy and I love bouncing around the tree and house in my Santa hat humming Christmas Carols.
Enough talk. Here is the progression of my masterpiece.
Ta DAAAA!!!! Doesn’t it look amazing! Of course in real life you can see that the actual branches have sparkles and glitter on them and they shine ever so pretty when it is just the lights shining up the room. I also tinseled up the room, over the windows and around Dad’s bar. It doesn’t make for good photography so I didn’t take any pictures but I did take some of the smaller decorations around the house. 🙂 Have a squizz.
I just love those plush toys. If you squeeze their hands, they all sing and dance together. Absolutely adorable. The other decorations are just ones we have had forever, or since I can remember so even though they aren’t very exciting, they do have some family value.
Just like my stocking there. Had that since I was a little tacker. My brother has one exactly the same! TWINS! (Yeah I went there, ’cause we are actually twins… haha…get it! Oh dear, time for sleep I think!)
Anyway, I LOVE CHRISTMAS and spending time with my family. They are a lovely bunch, most of the time.
Stay tuned for more Christmas-y things, like parties and presents. 🙂
16 sleeps. Stay good!
After absolutely smashing my November challenge (my target was 50km of walking and jogging … I ended up with 110.334KM! :D) I have decided to set myself another target of jogging/running only for December. This month’s target is 75km. It is absolutely achievable, I will make sure of it.
What challenge’s have you set yourself lately?
Fast or slow, it doesn’t matter, as long as you go.
Keep on running,
