Today was an interesting day and by interesting I mean I didn’t do a whole lot. Normally, I am go go go but today I just relaxed and didn’t do anything…
I stayed at a friend’s house last night after the dinner so I could have a glass of bubbly or 2… (I think I had 3 max! – really, only 3, I promise Jade). That meant driving home from their house, picking up some movies on the way home (Divergent Series) and watching both 2 and 3 in one day. That is literally all I’ve done.
I also misplaced a necklace and still cannot find it – I’m super sad about this but have looked in all the places I can think of and have been, so have come to the fact that I’ve lost it and will need to replace it (if I can…) 😦
In terms of a daily challenge, I was too busy looking for my necklace to even think of the daily challenge. I pulled my car apart in the dark using my phone torch, pulled my gym bag apart multiple times (because that is the last bag I remember having it in) and cried a whole lot. I was also so annoyed at myself, that I was grumpy at #boyfie which was silly, because he was just trying to help. 😦
Back to the movie topic, the Divergent Series is based on a book trilogy by Veronica Roth (in which now I have the books; more for the collection!) It is based in post-apocalyptic dystopian Chicago, where a colony of people are divided up by their social and personality-related affiliation. Its a sci-fy genre but I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did #boyfie. Hopefully the books are even better than the movies!

Evening! Today brings around day 9 of this 30 day mind and body challenge.
This evening I went to dinner with Melbourne Victory at the Football Federation Victoria Gold Medal Dinner. It’s a smaller version of what the AFL call the Brownlow Medal. I took the day off as a long weekend, to get myself looking all pretty and things for the evening. Got my hair curled, makeup done and wore this amazing dress. I felt pretty.
Today was all about visualizing your dreams and goals again but this time as a whole and not just about your body. Where do you want to do in life; what do you want to do; do you have term goals that you are currently working towards?
What is my greatest dream? This one was so easy for me, I could say it in my sleep!
I want to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Dream BIG! You never know how far you can go until you try.
So that’s the end goal. What’s the plan? I’m still working on it.. However, I have now completed my Event Management Diploma, I’ve been volunteering non-stop with major sporting clubs like Melbourne Victory and I just need 1 person to believe in me enough to give me a go in a different career.
This is a huge long-term goal – 6 years from now. I have no idea what I am doing next week but hopefully, it’s something that will make this dream a little bit closer and a little more real.

Today our challenge was visualize what we wanted to achieve in this challenge and beyond. If you don’t have dreams and aspirations, you will struggle to move forward in life. It’s that simple. Everyone has dreams. Whether it’s to have the perfect job, perfect husband or perfect abs.
Today it was all about the abs for me. The rest of my body is shaping up real nice! (Even if I do say so myself) I want them and I know how to achieve them. However, I currently am not committed enough in my eating to get them. It’s as simple as that. Abs are made in the kitchen and my kitchen ain’t making abs at the moment.
I’ve got to get my brain into some serious “game face” mode and think about food as fuel for my body and not just something for me to indulge in. I love food as much as the next person; I’m just not nourishing my body with the right food in order to achieve my goal. I’m working my ass off (literally!) and then I come home and destroy it by eating the wrong foods.
There aren’t no maybes, because maybes always mean no. There is no “I’ll try” because that’s indecisive and not committed. There is only “YES” and “I WILL”.
Today is the end of the first week of our new 30 Day Dream Team.
I’ll be honest, I could have been more committed to eating better today. I didn’t have a good day. However, because I didn’t have a good day, doesn’t mean I can’t finish off the week good.
I went to the gym and trained legs tonight which was good. I pb’d my deadlift @ 65.4kg tonight. SO HAPPY! It’s slowly inching up in weight which is awesome. I’ve also finished work for the week until Monday. YAY!

We were required to post one fact or comment so others can learn its benefits. In our little team, we like to call them “Cleanse Days”. Literally doing a cut and paste from the thread there are some benefits of including fasting days in your regime. (Please consult a health care professional before just jumping into not eating for 2 days straight)
Proteins start to be broken down and old cells get cleared out. All the junk goes.
Help with sparing and preserving muscle tissue (lean mass)
While weight loss or weight maintenance is seen as a primary benefit from intermittent fasting, the practice has demonstrated efficacy for reducing abdominal fat (visceral fat) and, as a result, an improvement in insulin sensitivity and overall cardiovascular health.
These are only a couple of benefits. I cleanse to restart my system. Sometimes is easy, some times it’s not but all the time, it’s worth it.
