*The Adventure Continues*
June 12th 2012
DAY FIVE!!
We were back on coach today, heading further south towards the coast. Our destination was Antibes on the French Riviera. Once again, the morning was quiet but the coach livened up once we had been traveling for a few hours. The day was filled up with consuming way too many pringles and playing Arnold over the radio when it was time to wake up from a nap.

We travelled along the Côte d’Azur and the views were incredible, however I didn’t have a window seat so I didn’t get any nice photos of it. 😦
Arriving in Antibes in the mid afternoon, we were shuffled off to our rooms to get ready for a fun filled night in another country. Yes, ladies and gents, another country, just for one night.
MONACO
Everyone was looking pretty suave when we boarded our not-so-posh coach, headed for one of the richest (if not THE richest) country in the world.
I think at this point I should mention that I had decided to being my small point and shoot camera rather than my DSLR. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge the battery and it died before we even got to the first stop. I took all my photos on iPhone which was sweet, until it decided to go for a swim in Greece. I have managed to get a few photos from people on my tour so I will be uploading guest photos in this post, rather than my photos. I have asked for permission and given credit to the owners of these photos.
We walked the streets near the Royal Palace and got some photos of beautiful buildings. We also took turns at posing for photos with the harbour of Monaco in the background.
It was at this point I spotted a well dressed man, with a pocket watch, contemplating life. He looked up and we our eyes met. It was love at first sight. I rushed to his side and he took me in his arms. He pulled out a ring and we were to be married.
(Ha, ok, before people get too carried away!)
I caught up with Jayden (a musical philosopher who was on my tour) and we linked arms while walking. We decided that we were going to have a little fun in Monaco and tell people we were engaged. We dreamt up a whole new life for ourselves. Expensive houses all over the world, exotic cars and butler’s to look after our every need. It still is a running joke between ourselves which is extremely amusing. (Well, in our brains it is :p)

After visiting the palace, we were wisked away to the centre of Monaco to visit the highlife of town. We were dropped off outside the Sun Casino and told to go adventuring. We walked passed designers like Chanel and Cartier. In the distance, I spotted cars. Not just ordinary everyday rides but exotic luxury cars. Ferrari’s! Lamborghini’s! Bugatti’s! All were parked outside the Monte Carlo Casino (or the Grand Casino as we were told) I couldn’t even afford to be looking at these cars but I took a sneaky peek anyway. 😉

The girls decided on icecream, which was a much cheaper choice than gambling :p We sat on some stairs in the gardens in front of the casino, demolishing icecream and watched the world pass by without a care.

On our way back to the cheapie casino (LOL, if there was even one!), we got a lovely man from outside the casino to take a photo of us. It is definitely a keeper. ❤

Back at the Sun casino we found fellow contikians gambling away their spending money so I decided to join in the fun. I was €50 up but decided, eh, all on red. Black. Ended up €90 out of pocket but it was a pretty great experience.
If I remember correctly, I think I fell asleep on the way back to the camp. I could feel myself getting sick so it was bed as soon as I got back.
We were off to Nice tomorrow so sleep probably wasn’t a bad idea!
Bonsoir,
C. x
P.s. Right outside the Sun Casino was the famous hairpin bend from the Monaco Grandprix. I really wanted to pretend I was a F1 car but heels and dress prevented me from transforming on the spot. 😉

P.p.s. Photos are not edited as they aren’t mine and I do not have time. It’s almost 12!!!
