LADIES AND GENTS! IT’S FINALLY OFFICIAL!

RUN THE ROCK 2013!

I have actually registered and now cannot back out!

A minor detail has changed on the event but it isn’t a huge deal breaker. Originally, it was 17.5km; it’s now 19km. What’s 1.5km more, right?

The last few runs I’ve done around home have been between 10-13km so I am trying to build myself up to the 19km distance. I have only ever run that far once before and it was earlier this month. Missed that tremendous achievement? Click here.

I have also registered with Everyday Hero Australia in a hope to raise some money for the Cancer Council as they are the major sponsor for the event.   Back in September 2012, my uncle passed away from cancer (RIP Uncle Geoff <3) so I am trying to raise as much money as I can for cancer research so other families don’t have to go through the heart ache of seeing their loved ones hurting and hopefully one day, a cure will be found.

If you find yourself in a position to donate, please click here. Whether it is $1 of your pocket money or $100 from your weekly wage, every cent counts.  I have had a few donations already and I am very grateful to those people.

I am very excited but also very nervous.  I have looked at the running times for the winners last year and they are like half the time I’ll complete it in BUT I just want to finish.  It’s not about the time and in fact, not even about the distance, I am in it to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Council.

Uncle G, this one is for you.
