Feeding my obession!

Money apparently cannot buy happiness. Sorry, have you ever hear of Kurt Geiger?

Kurt Geiger: High end fashion label started in Bond St, London in 1963. They currently sell more than 2 million pairs of shoes into the UK and Europe. It’s not uncommon for me to just browse and dream away on their new website for hours on end. What’s that you say? How did I get a pair shipped here when they don’t offer international shipping to Australia? Cheekily and sneakily. 😉 Let’s back track a few steps and see how I got acquainted with Sir Kurt.

I was in Liverpool, England on the 11th July 2012 (Part 2 of my ex’travel’ganza holiday) and I was wandering aimlessly around LiverpoolOne window shopping after spending all my money at Anfield, home of Liverpool Football Club. I came across the Kurt Geiger concept store by their spectacular display of “Supers”. Fluorescent colours and spikes and mega heels. Absolute bliss. I walked through their store in absolute amazement, literally with my jaw on the floor.

As I still had 2 weeks in the UK and another tour, I didn’t want to be carrying around shoes that would weigh me down so I made the decision to not buy any but take their card so I could see whether they shipped to Australia. I didn’t see another Kurt Geiger store again for the rest of my adventure so inadvertently wasn’t fazed about buying a pair of their shoes. It wasn’t until I arrived an hour early to Heathrow Airport and was waiting for my gate to open when I spotted the said devil. There in duty free, was the brand new Kurt Geiger store for Heathrow Airport. Was it fate? Was I destined to own a pair of their beauitful shoes?

Anyone who truely knows me, knows how weak I am for a head turning pair of heels. I couldn’t help myself. I purchased a pair of Emse’s in tan (of course duty free, so £30 cheaper!) Here they are.

They had all the “Supers” on display but I couldn’t justify buying two pairs. I was so dissappointed but thought that I’ll just get the next pair shipped to Australia when I get home.

So, I’m home and I log in to Kurt Geiger and I find out they don’t ship to Australia. Absolute.Devo. I racked my brain trying to think of ways to get them here. I contacted Kurt Geiger and they told me to try Harrods because they are a stockist. Harrods had every style but the one I wanted.

*BULB* I NEED SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN THE UK TO SEND THEM TO THEN THEY CAN POST THEM TO ME!

It was a fool proof plan because I knew exactly who to send them to. My work has an office in Daventry, England and I am pretty good buddies with one of the sales guys there. Off I went and sent an email to him explaining my situation and that it would be a MASSIVE favour but if he couldn’t do it, I would understand and find a way of getting them here. To my delight, he said no worries.

That leads us to today. THE ARRIVIAL.

I ran downstairs when I heard the courier arrive at work. Absolutely buzzing, I ran back up the stairs and into my office and just stared at the box on my desk. I wanted to open it but I just wanted to look at it.

Here is the build up to the reveal.

I am beyond excited to wear them but I have a 3 week wait until after physio. Ahh, the build up is killing me.
